I woke up one morning at the age of 22, in the beginning of 2014 and had unexpectedly leaped out of my hamster wheel that the most of us have been born into. Values and thoughts that I had always accepted as they were suddenly made no sense at all. I quit my job the same day and moved back to my home area within a few weeks. I was in search for something, but I did not know what. I ended up at a meditation course and that’s where my journey really started. Meditation did something to me, something I had never experienced before. I remember the first thing the teacher ever asked us: “What did the sky look like today?”. When I realized that I had no idea, that’s when I knew this man would open doors for me. Saar Avivi, my friend and teacher.
I came in to this art without any previous background from martial arts. And it turns out that it’s not that bad to start with an empty cup given that your teacher got the juice and even then it takes lots of time, money and energy to fill it up. I began practicing Tai Chi Chuan in the summer of 2014 and have since then come a long way and no way on my lifelong journey. We’ll see where I’ve ended up when it’s time to move on. Once you’ve got a feeling for it and when your soul, body and mind have gotten familiar with the practices it will take you places you didn’t even knew existed and you will never be able to explain the experience. But that’s what makes you go up early in the morning to start the day when the world is still asleep.

2025 marks my 11th year in this beautiful art and I have at this point finished our style’s Nei Gong, our hand forms and weapon forms. I’ve gone through all our applications, indoor exercises and drills. And as of now I have acquired Level 6 as a certified instructor in the Wudang Tai Chi Chuan system. The work continues and even though I practice without intent of chasing anything it’s always a great feeling to get a receipt that all the hard works takes you places.
I’m very excited about where my martial arts journey will take me. I have no idea where it will end up and I guess that’s what makes it so interesting. All I know is that it will be an essential part for the rest of my life and I hope that I can help other people in search of the unknown.
